I’m vaccinated and back at it, after a 441 day hiatus!
May 8th will be Black Fae Day, a celebration of Black representation in fantasy and fiction. My friend Alicia (of Kiss A Frog Cosplay) put together this stunning Viceroy butterfly ensemble, and I was more than happy to trek down to a local creek with her and get shooting! They turned out just as magical as we’d hoped, and I dunno about you, but I’m SO excited to see all the other photos that will be shared on the 8th! Take a peek at a few faves!
Marcy’s family is always such a joy to photograph! Her kids are hilarious and sweet, and you never know what kind of cute shots you’ll get with them. :) I never expected the chicken, for example!
Chasity and I headed down into Kanawha State Forest for her senior session. Love the way these turned out, especially the colors in her creek photos!
What an afternoon; it was full of snuggling puppies at the park and taking some pretty Fall senior photos. Love the autumnal color palette she went with — it really pops!
Bramwell is such a perfect spot for senior sessions. Between the historic buildings, the railway station, and the brick-lined streets, you never run out of great photo locations. We were even able to walk down into the creek for some of our shots!
I always love doing photos for my family! Over the holidays, my aunt Tami asked if I’d be able to take some updated family shots for her, since their family has grown quite a bit in the last few years. It’s not often that their whole family is together; my cousin Daniel and his fiancee Lyn lived in China for several years and are now in California, Isaac’s family lives in North Carolina, Bethany and her hubby live in Ohio, and Moriah is in school at WVU. I know how much it meant to them to finally have group photos taken! :)
Annabelle has to be the absolute easiest baby I’ve ever worked with! She’s all smiles and she looks so sweet with the harvest setup we shot. Love her!
This was one of my favorite shoots of the year, I think! Adorable family + gorgeous autumn light = some splendid photos! We even had a bonus cake smash at the end of the session for little Chase. Such a fun day, and I’m in love with the shots we got!
Emma has grown so much since the last time I did a session with her family! Love those curls and that mischievous smile! Sunrise Carriage Trail is such a nice spot for fall photos. Leaves galore!
I love having the opportunity to work with families again and again — it’s so neat to watch their kids grow up right in front of you! I’ve been doing photos for Karen and Kenny ever since she was pregnant with this little guy, and seeing him run around like a mad man was too much fun!
